Tip 28 – Adding Ribbon to your organization system

This tip is targeted towards those of you (us) who are NOT ribbon junkies. Add your small amounts of ribbon right into your 4 section organization system.

Put colored ribbon in the rainbow section, themed ribbon (like sports or birthday) in the themed section and holiday ribbon in the calendar year.

One simple way to do this is to use a piece of sturdy chipboard and wrap the ribbon around it.  I cut this chipboard into 11.75" x 5.75" - just the right size to slide into a Vertical Double Page Pocket.

I used re-positionable photo squares/splits to secure the ends of the ribbon.

One of the ribbons I was going to wrap around this card had some stains on it, so into the purge box it went.  That left me with less ribbon, so I was able to cut the card down to fit in a Fabulous Four pocket page.

I put the card into a Fabulous Four page in the Orange section of my ScrapRack.  If you're not using a ScrapRack, you can add the card into whatever storage tool you are using.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Hi!
I used this idea and LOVE it. I don’t have a ton of ribbon, and the rolls I did have were all different sizes, and some didn’t have holes in the role to put it on a rod. Instead of the cardboard you show above, I used a durable-material plastic (actually they were the old ribbon ring tabs) and wound my ribbon around them in rainbow order. I would totally buy some pre-made all-same-size durable plastic cards to use for my ribbon. The ones I used were about 1.5″ x 2″ in size, which was a little small for some wide ribbons. If the cards were more like Index Card size, there would be tons of ways/storage containers to use to store the ribbon. I hope you can make such a product! 🙂
    Cheers,
    Laura
