If you’ve listened to me long enough you’ve heard me say – “If it’s easy, it gets done/used – if it’s difficult it doesn’t.” Our lives are so busy that keeping things easy is mandatory. That could mean easy to access, easy to see, easy to take with you…
One of biggest reasons that Fab Files came into existence was to create easy access to an album’s worth of photos. I watched as my friends and fellow croppers struggled to choose photos out of boxes that held thousands. Personally, I sorted, organized, resorted, and reorganized photos by the hundreds. I thought, there’s got to be an easier way!
What would be easier? It would be easier if I could sort my photos into small “sets” by album or event. It would be easy if I could leave them sorted in those labeled boxes until I needed them. It would be easy to grab them off the shelf with 1 hand. It would be easy if I could throw them into my crop tote without worry or concern that they were going to get damaged or disorganized. It would be easy if I could keep some journaling notes right with the photos.
Voila! The 4x6 and 5x7 Fab Files were born.
The 4x6 and 5x7 Fab Files were designed to hold 240-300 photos. About what you can include in a 40-50 page album. Whether you’re working on a regular family album chronologically, or you’re working on that special Disney album, you’ll be able to store all of your photos together.
The 4x6 and 5x7 Fab Files include reusable plastic file folders. Each folder will hold 40-50 photos making it a simple way to sort, store, and organize your photos by event. Each file folder has a clear plastic front pocket that comes preloaded with a lined sheet of notepaper (my way of encouraging you to jot down those journaling notes as you sort your photos). These note sheets can easily be removed and replaced when you’ve finished scrapping those photos.
The size of these boxes is perfect for the 1-handed grab - easy to pull off the shelf and easy to put back.
The small size fits easily into your crop tote.
The locking tab on the lid ensures your Fab File box won’t come open in your tote.
The “file” aspect makes it easy for you to pull out the exact photos you want to work with.
Labels on the side and top of each box make it easy to identify what’s inside.
Bonus – because the boxes are translucent, you can use the space at the bottom of the file folder to label each group of photos. When you store your Fab Files on the side, you’ll be able to read the bottom of each Fab File - like a library of photos.
We introduced the Fab Files in 2015. They were successful immediately and there were instant requests for different sizes and designs to accommodate all types of crafting supplies.
