Die Storage – tips for using the Die File – 2

Challenge - organizing stamps and dies together in the Desk Maid Die File.

When I created the Die File, I wasn't thinking that crafters would use it for both dies and stamps.  After we released it, one of the first questions I was asked, "Can I store my stamps with my dies in this?"

I recently purchased the Diamond Press Nordic Christmas die & stamp set.  This set also included 2 small embossing folders.  Here's how I combined everything into my Die File.

Organize Christmas Diamond Press Dies

I added the dies from this collection to a Die File panel that was half full with other dies.  Leaving 1 magnetic strip at the end of the panel empty.

I cut one of our self-adhesive magnetic strips into a couple of 5" lengths and adhered them to the end of  2 - 5x7 Stamp Pockets.  If you're trying this, you don't actually need a full length of magnetic strip, you could use just 2" of magnet.

I loaded the pockets with the coordinating stamps and embossing folders. Then laid the loaded pockets over the top of the dies, letting the magnetic strip connect with the empty strip on the Die File panel.

What I could have done better...

It would have been better to line up the dies following the pattern of the stamp sets - similar to what I did in my previous post.  Sometimes dies are difficult to recognize and coordinate with stamps.  Having the stamps sitting directly over the dies would be helpful.

Even with the embossing folders and the stamps in the pockets, I was able to easily slide the panel back into the Die File. (I'll add a photo later.)

Thanks for stopping by today!
